Portraits

One area of photography I absolutely love is portrait photography. Whether it be family groups, children or babies it’s great to capture a moment that will bring back memories for years to come. I like to work in a relaxed and informal manner on portrait shoots which really gives me the opportunity to capture the true personalities of you and your family.

I also enjoy working in the corporate environment and have taken portraits for boardrooms, taken staff shots for websites and produced images for social media websites including LinkedIn.

I took my 2 boys to Maria before Christmas hoping for an alternative to boring generic school photos. They are aged 7 and 11 and, being typical boys, spend half their time arguing and the other half fighting. At best, despite their unwillingness to be there, I hoped she’d capture them looking a little bit happy. Within minutes, however they were putty in her hands as they posed for their pictures – looking into the camera, smiling with their eyes as well as their mouths. They loved every minute of it - she got them in lots of different poses, individually and together - arm in arm even ! Some shots were cheeky, some ‘cool’, some funny, but every single one of them beautiful. She captured their individuality down to a tee! My only complaint? I wanted to buy all the pictures !
